We offer a place for World of Warcraft players to come together as a friendly community to interact with one another, seek help from the quest forums or one of our informative guides, and add their own gaming advice. In addition to game help, our site offers galleries, player interviews, blogs, and much more. We also host our own guild website here.
An ancient evil lies dormant within Deepholm, the domain of earth in the Elemental Plane.
Hidden away in a secluded sanctuary, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has waited, recovering from the wounds of his last battle against Azeroth and biding his time until he can reforge the world in molten fire.
Soon, Deathwing the Destroyer will return to Azeroth, and his eruption from Deepholm will sunder the world, leaving a festering wound across the continents. As the Horde and Alliance race to the epicenter of the cataclysm, the kingdoms of Azeroth will witness seismic shifts in power, the kindling of a war of the elements, and the emergence of unlikely heroes who will rise up to protect their scarred and broken world from utter devastation.
Overpowered takes pride in running a friendly guild where people are treated like family and with respect. Just as we expect our officers to be courteous to our members, we expect our members to be considerate of the officers and fellow guild-mates. We focus on people interaction and a family-like atmosphere. We help one another with various aspects of the game, casual leveling, heroics, world pvp, and 10-man raids. We are generous and will aid you throughout your adventures with items for your professions, gear, or other occasional things from our guild vault. We are not a hardcore raiding guild, we don't stick to a rigid schedule because it simply isn't possible to do that with many of the players that have jobs, kids, college, and other obligations.
We have some of the most knowledgeable people in the game who have been playing since World of Warcraft launched and some of the best players on the server. We are a perfect guild for both new and old players who would still like to learn all the aspects of the game. We do not believe in applications. This is a game, not a job. We all pay a monthly fee. The last thing we want to encourage to feel that this is work. It is supposed to be fun. We welcome all levels, young and old. All we ask is that you follow the basic rules and treat everyone as an equal, and most importantly...have fun!
PROMOTIONS
Depending on your overall attitude and loyalty to the guild, you will have the opportunity to become an officer of the guild, a class leader, or members of the staff on the website. Your advancement depends on you. Some of the things to focus on to be considered for a promotion:
- helping others; with your professions, quests, or be willing to group with guildies for high level instances or heroics - having a good attitude - showing you can be a problem solver if there are fights amongst the guild members - spreading the word about the guild, if you recruit people, you will most likely get a promotion that will allow you to invite members yourself. - be polite and courteous to all people, not just the guild members. Some of us have many friends in the game in other guilds that help one another in various aspects of the game.
Ranks are as follows:
Senshi - Starting rank. No privileges. Shoen - Second rank. Allows you to edit your public note and withdraw one item per day from the guild vault (tab number 4) Saigo - Officer rank. Allows you to invite members, withdraw more items from the vault, speak in officer chat, edit all public and officer notes. Ronin - Veteran Officer rank. Allows you to withdraw substantially more from the guild vault, have access to all vault tabs, edit all notes, create guild events, set message of the day, invite/promote/demote and kick members.
Class Leader Rank: If you show that you are knowledgeable about your spec and class and are able to teach others with the same spec and class, and show us that you are there for the guild members when they want to do heroics or raids, basically make yourself accessible, you can become your class leader. As a class leader, you can lead and organize runs and raids, create guild events on the calender, interview potential guild mates for positions on your runs and raid teams. You will be in charge of your team.
It is important to understand that this guild is big on respect. We will not tolerate name calling, nasty comments and overall bad attitudes toward anyone in the guild. We expect you to be friendly, kind, and courteous. If you are a high level or experienced player and a new player asks a question, do not make fun of them or mock them for being inexperienced.
Be aware, if you join the guild and immediately or soon thereafter ask for a 'run' or for items from the vault, you will promptly be removed from the guild. Do not join us simply to ask for runs, money, or vault items. We have some of the most knowledgeable people in the game within our ranks. Some of our members have played since the game launched. Our guild is a great place to learn about this game and all aspects of it.
About Raid Leader Rank
Raid Leader: Our raid leaders play a crucial role in the guild. The responsibilities of a raid leader include: 1. A good knowledge about raids; old world and new. The ability to lead and teach people with patience and understanding. Understanding that raids are a progression when beginning them: don't expect everyone to output maximum dps or be on the top of their game when doing raids the first few times. People have to learn and sometimes it take several times to get things down and committed to memory. 2. Recruiting. Along with your power comes the necessity of recruitment. You will be expected to ad in trade and general areas for more players to fill raid slots. You will be in charge of adding or denying classes, for example: if you feel there are too many plate wearers and the raids need more ranged dps, then you will have to decide who to allow into the guild and what classes will best benefit each raid. You will be able to invite new members to the guild.
3. Crowd Control. If you feel that certain members in the guild are ruining the raids, from bad attitudes to not listening, you will have the power to deny these guild members a spot in all future raids until they can prove that they can be team players. All members who have been denied raid spots and feel they have been treated unfairly can speak with a GM to try to come up with a solution that can benefit both them and the raid leader.
4. A Good Attitude: You must have a mature, diplomatic attitude; the ability to be a leader without being nasty, condescending or go off on a power trip. We all pay a monthly fee for this game, everyone should be treated well and as an equal.
5. Master Looter: Raid leaders will be in charge of master loot. You will be able to control who rolls and who ends up with the loot. All raid loot is subjected to our raid loot rules. We do not follow the standard DKP, the Zero-sum DKP, or the bidding system. Our system is a simple roll system, whomever rolls the highest gets the loot. The loot master will distribute each piece of gear to the appropriate class, main specs first, secondary specs last, depending on who rolled the highest number. All other loot that is not class specific is rolled on normally and given to the highest roller. Items that cannot be used by anyone will be given to the enchanter and the shard will be rolled on by everyone. Raid leaders who are caught playing favorites will promptly be removed from the guild and your name may be placed on a blacklist so that any future guilds you apply to will be able to gather information about your behavior.
We do not follow the standard DKP, the Zero-sum DKP, or the bidding system simply because we feel this is unfair and promotes dissension within the guild. These types of systems reward the players who are always on time and present for raids but punish those who come in late or real life gets in the way on days they can't make the raid.
Our guild may be right for you if:
- You like to instance with fellow guildies - You are tired of guilds run by immature players on power trips. - You hate guilds that show a complete lack of respect for their members. - You want to focus on the fun of the game. - You desire a more casual atmosphere. - You don’t want anyone to tell you how to spec. - You don’t want to be put on a rigid time schedule for raids. - You enjoy fun, mature, and sometimes silly conversation. - You wish to learn from knowledgeable, veteran players. - You enjoy occasional dance parties and parades. - You want to be treated as an equal no matter what your level is. - You want to make long-term friends.
Our guild may not be right for you if:
- You just want to raid the vault. - You want a guild that power-levels you. - You want a guild where high-levels run you through instances. - You think guild mates should give you money. - You want to talk however you feel like talking. - You desire a hard-core raiding guild. - You want a farming guild. - You can’t control your language or temper. - You have a bad attitude. - You have open bias about other classes and specs. - You expect to get preferential treatment because you’re a high level.
Guild Rules
We are not a strict endgame guild but there are a few rules that need to be followed.
1. Respect: treat other guild members with courtesy. Be polite. Do not call people names such as noob or nubsauce. This is disrespectful. Do not talk down or be condescending to any of the other members. If you are a higher level, treat the lower levels with the same respect you would give another high level.
2. Instances and quests: Do not ask anyone to “run you through” an instance or offer to pay someone to do it. This will not be tolerated. We did not get anyone to “run” us through; we did it ourselves by getting a group together. This helps you to become familiar with the instances and the bosses. We are not here to play the game for you. No one gets a free ride.
4. Level of Maturity: Have some self-discipline. We don’t want to hear a constant stream of vulgarity. You don’t have to use the f-bomb after every other word you say. Act accordingly. Watch what you say.
5. Respect the officers. If you have an issue with an officer or believe you have been treated unfairly, contact me about it. Do not yell in caps, call names or threaten an officer. They can and will kick you if you treat them badly.
The fastest way to get kicked from this guild is to violate one of these rules. We are here to enjoy the game and enjoy each others company, not tear each other down or take advantage of one another. As long as you treat your fellow guild members with kindness and respect, you will have nothing to worry about.
If you believe that we are right for you, speak to an officer or a GM about an invite. Once you have been invited to the guild, you may register here on the website for an account to access the Guild section which contains member pictures, guild games, screen shots, and other fun events. Registering on the website will complete your final step towards becoming a full fledged member of one of the best guilds around!
